Deadlines and application rounds

Ca' Foscari runs several admission rounds, and which rounds you can use depends on your citizenship. For the 2026/27 intake, rounds opened on 17 December 2025 on apply.unive.it; the exact dates for visa-requiring applicants were published only in the portal's documents, and those rounds are now closed. The 2027/28 rounds have not been published yet.

Start with the preliminary evaluation

Students who studied outside Italy must first request a preliminary online evaluation on apply.unive.it. Then you still need a Universitaly pre-enrolment and a visa before the national 31 October 2027 deadline (for 2027/28).

PhD calls are usually published in spring: for 2026/27 the main call closed on 6 May 2026 (€30 fee), with an additional call for some programs from 21 July to 9 September 2026.

Scholarships

  • Entrance scholarships (autumn 2026 intake): 20 renewable scholarships of €10,000 a year for exceptional master's students and 8 for exceptional bachelor's students. Check unive.it/scholarships for the 2027/28 call.
  • Regional right-to-study scholarship (DSU): income- and merit-based support in the Veneto region; an ISEE parificato is normally needed.
  • National schemes: see our scholarships in Italy guide.

Living in Venice

Venice is a unique historic city, and Ca' Foscari's main buildings are in the old centre. Housing in the historic centre can be limited, so look early. For your visa you must prove at least €10,179.85 per year (2026/27 and 2027/28) in traceable funds, plus real accommodation and health cover. See cost of studying in Italy.

Benefits

  • €700 or €1,300 a year for most non-EU students
  • Large English offer in business and economics
  • Renewable €10,000 merit scholarships
  • Foundation Year if you have fewer than 12 years of schooling

Difficulties

  • Some programs cost €4,350–8,934
  • Round dates for visa applicants are only in portal documents
  • Housing in Venice can be hard to find
  • Fewer engineering options than technical universities

Who Ca' Foscari suits best

Ca' Foscari is a good fit if you want an English-taught degree in business, economics, finance, tourism or languages at a low fixed fee, and if you have strong grades that could win an entrance scholarship. If you want engineering or computer science at scale, compare it with Politecnico di Torino or the University of Padua, which is also in the Veneto region.
